Description
The Iowa Department of Administrative Services, on behalf of the State of Iowa and participating state agencies and political subdivisions, seeks contractors to collect, handle, transport, treat, and dispose of sharps and biohazard waste, infectious waste, pharmaceutical waste (including hazardous, non-hazardous, controlled substances, and chemotherapy waste), and other regulated medical waste. Contractors must furnish suitable containers, deliver and service them at designated agency locations, perform scheduled and on-call pickups, and comply with applicable regulatory requirements. On-call pickups are generally required within 24 hours of an agency request. The attached estimates identify participating locations, waste streams, container types, and pickup frequencies or quantities. Bidders may price the locations they can serve, with line-item pricing covering collection, transportation, and disposal and no additional charges beyond those specified. The State may award contracts to up to three responsive and responsible bidders based on compliance, responsibility, and pricing. The resulting contract is non-exclusive; pricing is firm for one year, and the State may extend the contract for annual extensions as specified in the solicitation.
