Description
Brunswick County is soliciting proposals for comprehensive household hazardous waste services at its permanent collection facility. The contractor must collect, identify, segregate, package, bulk, recycle, treat, transport, and dispose of eligible household hazardous waste in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Services include characterization of unknown household-generated chemical waste, collection within one week of County request, site cleanup and remediation when necessary, provision of containers, absorbents, manifests, labels, personal protective equipment, monitoring and identification equipment, and material-handling equipment. The contractor must provide adequate personnel, submit waste and quantity listings before materials leave the site, provide completed manifests after receipt at disposal facilities, prepare household hazardous waste collection reports, and provide an eight-hour HAZWOPER refresher course to County personnel. The proposal must include a detailed service and implementation plan, pricing by waste category and applicable labor or surcharge items, company and personnel information, subcontractor information, at least three references, a certificate of insurance, and the attached Form of Proposal and Contractor Information. The initial contract term is one year with two successive one-year renewal options.
