Description
The Bureau of Land Management is seeking a small-business contractor for a firm-fixed-price construction project to repair a storm-damaged equipment shed at its Boise District facility. The work includes selective demolition of the existing roof and four damaged trusses; fabrication and installation of 16 shop-built wood trusses; installation of hurricane truss ties on new and existing trusses; complete replacement of the ribbed metal roofing, ridge cap, trim, and fasteners; and securing the existing east wall siding. The revised specifications permit 0.018-inch, 26-gauge nominal metal panels. The new trusses must match the existing profile, geometry, and bay configuration, and the roofing and fastening system must meet specified wind-uplift requirements. The contractor must provide delegated-design engineering, sealed structural calculations and shop drawings, product data, a work plan, a waste-management plan, predemolition photographs, and a construction schedule. The project has a construction magnitude between $50,000 and $100,000, a mandatory 180-calendar-day performance period, a minimum one-year workmanship warranty, and applicable federal construction wage requirements. Award will be made to one responsible small business whose compliant quotation offers the lowest price.
