Description
The U.S. Forest Service Incident Procurement Operations unit intends to acquire Freefly unmanned aircraft systems, including current and future versions of the Alta X, Astro, and successor platforms, on a sole-source basis. The systems are intended for prescribed-burn and wildfire-management operations, including aerial ignition and reconnaissance, and must support integration with the IGNIS aerial ignition payload and electro-optical/infrared sensors. The requirement also includes system integration, testing, parts, repair services, batteries, chargers, spare parts, and related equipment needed to maintain and modify the systems. The estimated total potential contract value is $25,000,000. The notice identifies Freefly Systems, Inc. as the manufacturer and sole source for the required platforms.
