Description
The City of Cedar Rapids Utilities Department is soliciting a contractor to remove the existing Weil-McLain boiler system and furnish, install, and commission a new equivalent boiler system at the J Avenue Water Treatment Plant. The work includes associated steam and return lines, expansion tanks, filters, separators, zone pumps, radiant fin heaters, electric forced-air radiant heaters, and all other parts and materials necessary for a complete and reliable system replacement. The facility will remain operational during the work, and the contractor is responsible for safety, cleanup, waste disposal, permits, applicable regulatory compliance, and required employee training. The new boiler system must be fully installed and operational no later than May 31, 2027. Bidders must attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting, submit manufacturer descriptive literature, complete the required insurance-ability certification, and provide the requested bid information through the City's electronic procurement portal. Payment and performance bonds are required from the awarded contractor in amounts equal to the contract price.
