Description
The City of Cedar Rapids is seeking a contractor to furnish and install approximately 612 trees at designated street right-of-way locations during the fall 2026 planting season. The scope includes supplying specified tree species and sizes, planting, mulching, watering, staking where necessary, irrigation bags, cleanup, GIS documentation, and compliance with planting, inspection, traffic-control, permitting, and safety requirements. Planting must occur between October 7 and November 15, 2026, unless otherwise approved in writing. The contractor must maintain the trees for two years after planting, including regular watering, mulch maintenance, stake adjustment and removal, replacement of dead or unhealthy trees, and warranty support. Bidders must provide proof of Midwest nursery stock grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 6a or colder and either proof of an on-site ISA Certified Arborist or notarized proof that at least 50% of core business operations is dedicated to tree planting. The solicitation requires insurance documentation and endorsements, and bids are submitted electronically through the City's online procurement portal.
