Description
The City of Cedar Rapids is soliciting a lump-sum contractor to relocate existing interior vault utilities in the basement of the Town Centre building before a related vault and sidewalk repair project. The work includes locating, removing, relocating, replacing, reconnecting, and protecting active sump, gas, electrical, communication, and other utilities; removing inactive conduits; constructing a new sump pit; and installing a new sump pump, electrical connections, and related appurtenances. The contractor must coordinate utility relocations with the owner, obtain required permits and inspections, protect the site and adjacent infrastructure from water intrusion and construction impacts, restore disturbed areas, and provide all labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals. The engineer's opinion of probable cost is $75,000. Work may begin upon notice to proceed, must begin no later than November 2, 2026, and must be completed by December 31, 2026.
