Description
The City of Cedar Rapids is seeking a contractor to furnish and install approximately 583 trees during the Fall 2026 planting season. Approximately 557 trees will be planted along street rights-of-way throughout the city, and 26 trees will be planted at Ellis and Gardner Golf Courses. The scope includes furnishing trees and all labor, materials, equipment, mulch, irrigation bags, staking, fencing for golf-course trees, watering, mapping, cleanup, permits, and related installation activities. The requested species and quantities are listed in the bid schedule, and limited substitutions may be permitted with prior approval. The contractor must maintain the trees for two years, including regular watering, mulching, staking adjustments, inspections, and warranty replacement of dead or unhealthy trees. Bidders must submit proof of Midwest nursery stock-grown trees and either proof of an on-site ISA-Certified Arborist or notarized documentation that at least 50% of core business operations is dedicated to tree planting. The solicitation also requires insurance documentation, a completed insurance-availability certification, contractor-qualification information, and proof of the required tree origin. Work is to be performed between October 7 and November 15, 2026, with the contract initially ending November 15, 2028.
