Description
The City of Cedar Rapids is soliciting unit-price bids for the Lincolnway Village Intake Replacements project. Work includes replacement and removal of stormwater intakes and manholes; installation, removal, and replacement of reinforced concrete storm sewer in multiple diameters; fire hydrant assembly replacement and removal; water-main valve-box adjustments and replacement; utility-crossing reinforcement; rigid foam insulation near water mains; and connections to existing manholes. Related work includes sidewalk and driveway removal and reconstruction, full-depth Portland cement concrete pavement patches, sod restoration, temporary traffic control, sign removal and reinstallation, erosion-control filter socks, construction surveying, mobilization, and concrete washout. The engineer's opinion of probable cost is $840,000. Work must begin no later than April 1, 2027 and be completed within 90 working days after the applicable start date; the contract also requires a five-percent bid security and, after award, performance, payment, and maintenance bonds.
