Description
The South Central Transit Authority (SCTA) is seeking qualified firms to submit sealed bids for the renovation of the Reading Operations Center, located at 1700 N 11th Street, Reading, PA. The project involves four separate contracts: General Construction, Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing. The General Contract includes all construction renovation activities and building modifications. The Electrical Contract covers new electrical systems, the HVAC Contract covers installation of new HVAC systems, and the Plumbing Contract covers new plumbing systems. All work must be performed in accordance with the contract documents. Bids are due by 11:00 AM prevailing time on October 7, 2026, and must be submitted electronically via PennBid. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for August 26, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the site. The project is subject to Davis-Bacon Act wage rates and requires compliance with various federal and state regulations. A bid bond of 5% of the bid amount is required, and performance and payment bonds of 100% will be required at contract execution.
