Description
El Rio Health is gathering information on vendor capabilities and preliminary costs for three transportation service categories across nine routes: two fixed courier routes between its facilities, three fixed laboratory transportation routes, and four prescription home-delivery routes to patients. Supply delivery is expressly excluded. Courier work includes internal clinic pickups and exchanges of documents, records, pharmacy bins, money bags, oxygen cylinders, and medical instruments; laboratory routes require specimen security, tracking, and temperature control; prescription delivery requires recipient verification, signatures, patient contact attempts, secure handling, and return of undelivered medications and copayments. Vendors are asked to describe fully outsourced, hybrid, or supplemental service models; route capacity, staffing and backup coverage; vehicles and driver training; dispatch, communications, GPS and reporting technology; safety and continuity procedures; insurance coverage for transported property; and preliminary cost information. This is an information-gathering exercise only, not a solicitation or offer to contract, and El Rio Health currently operates these services internally.
