Description
Niagara Health System is seeking a qualified courier provider for secure, time-sensitive transportation of laboratory specimens and related materials between its hospital sites and designated external laboratories. Service must be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year-round. Deliveries to local and Hamilton destinations must be completed within one hour of pickup; additional transit time may be allowed for Toronto and other approved destinations. Volumes and tote sizes vary, and the provider must support on-demand deliveries and fluctuating demand. The provider must supply appropriately trained personnel, dedicated vehicles with air conditioning, and dispatch services to maintain continuous operations. The proposal must address specimen security and integrity, chain of custody, vehicle cleaning and maintenance, staffing and service-continuity plans, tracking and delivery confirmation, performance reporting, and applicable privacy and dangerous-goods requirements. Occasional pharmacy-related deliveries may also be requested. The agreement is intended to run for three years, with two 12-month renewal options.
