Description
The California Department of Social Services seeks daily courier service between its Disability Determination Service Division’s Sierra and Central Valley branches and the United States Postal Service. The contractor will provide labor, vehicles, equipment, and materials; collect and deliver mail on a weekday schedule, process postal transactions, and furnish postal supplies. The scope includes handling approximately 600 pounds of incoming mail and 1,200 pounds of outgoing mail per day, with mail from separate post office boxes kept separate. The contractor must use covered, lockable vehicles and ensure drivers hold valid California driver’s licenses. Bidders must demonstrate at least three years of relevant daily courier experience, hold a valid California motor carrier permit, and meet the other stated minimum qualifications. The bid package includes a monthly rate sheet and required certifications and reference forms. The agreement is anticipated to run for up to 24 months, with an option to extend for up to 12 months.
