Description
The City of Temple is soliciting proposals from nonprofit organizations to operate an emergency warming shelter during cold-weather events and other qualifying emergencies. Eligible applicants must maintain a physical location within Temple city limits, have a fully operational fire suppression system, and demonstrate prior emergency sheltering or related community-service experience. The selected organization will receive reimbursement, up to $30,000, for eligible activation-related expenses, including staffing, volunteer coordination, training, shelter supplies, food and beverages, utilities, temporary equipment, custodial and safety supplies, first aid materials, personal protective equipment, and security or emergency-protocol costs. Proposals must address organizational capacity, rapid mobilization, staffing, shelter operations, safety and de-escalation procedures, vulnerable-population services, cost structure, insurance capability, and two relevant references.
