Description
The City of Austin is soliciting a contractor to provide acoustic leak detection surveying for an estimated 500 linear miles of its water distribution system per year. The contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, materials, transportation, GPS data collection, inspections, leak pinpointing within six feet, and reporting. Services include inspecting exposed water-system assets, identifying suspicious noises and leaks, documenting damaged or missing assets and mapping discrepancies, and reporting visible leaks promptly. The contractor must have at least three consecutive years of recent experience providing acoustic leak detection services for municipal water systems and must submit at least five recent leak detection reports. Assigned personnel must meet specified experience or training requirements, and the contractor must provide GIS-compatible data, daily leak reports, monthly progress reports, and annual reports. The contract has an initial 24-month term with up to three additional 12-month extensions at the City's option.
