Description
The City of Austin is soliciting trained leak-detection dogs and related professional services for Austin Water. The contractor will provide dogs and handlers capable of detecting treated potable-water and wastewater leaks in above-ground and underground systems, including urban utility environments, paved and grassy areas, buried conditions, streets, rights-of-way, easements, facilities, and other City-identified locations. Services include routine surveys, standby and on-site availability, priority and emergency response, marking suspected leak locations, communicating findings to City staff, and providing electronic site reports with surveyed areas, suspected leak locations, confidence levels, observations, and recommended follow-up actions. Offerors must demonstrate at least three years of working-dog detection experience, specific leak-detection experience in potable-water or wastewater utility environments, at least three qualifying municipal or utility references, and qualified trainers and handlers. The contract has an initial 24-month term with up to three additional 12-month extensions.
