Description
The Bureau of Land Management is soliciting a contractor to remove remnant features from the H&S #1 closed mine claim near Nome, Alaska, and transport them to a licensed offsite disposal facility. The work includes project management, planning documents, site access and removal planning, removal of a cabin and its roofing material containing 8% chrysotile asbestos, a 20-foot trailer, trommel, sluice, grizzly bar, welded-drum pipe, and multiple drums, along with furnishing all labor, equipment, transportation, materials, permits, and related services. The contractor must provide an accident prevention/site safety and health plan, perform the field removal action, document site conditions with photographs containing coordinates and azimuths, and prepare draft and final planning documents and reports. The anticipated contract is firm-fixed-price, with a period of performance from October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027. Quotes will be evaluated on price and technical approach, including proposed methods, materials, and equipment.
