Description
South Kingstown School Department is soliciting a contractor to replace a non-operational boiler at Hazard School and restore the facility's dual-boiler heating configuration. The work includes furnishing and installing one Aldrich AVR-900 boiler or equivalent and one Webster SG8-03 burner or equivalent; disconnecting existing gas, power, and control wiring; removing and disposing of the existing equipment; connecting new piping to existing lines; providing crane service and rigging, electrical labor and materials, gas piping and fittings, gaskets, city and state permits, and startup, testing, and adjustment. The bid price must include all labor, equipment, parts, and materials. The project requires a one-year parts-and-labor warranty and a five-year boiler warranty. Bidders must state the anticipated number of days required for installation. Prevailing wages apply, and subcontracting requires prior school-department approval. A bid deposit of at least 5% is required; bids of $30,000 or more also require performance, labor, and materials bonds after award.
