Description
The City seeks one qualified contractor to provide secure shredding and destruction services for all City departments and facilities. The scope includes furnishing, delivering, maintaining, relocating, and removing locked collection containers; providing recurring scheduled service and on-call or bulk-purge pickups; securely collecting and transporting materials; maintaining chain-of-custody controls; and performing on-site or securely controlled off-site destruction. Paper records are required, while destruction of optical media, magnetic media, hard drives, and other approved materials may be proposed separately. The contractor must provide certificates of destruction for each service event, itemized reporting and invoices, recycling and downstream-disposal information, responsive service-change and missed-pickup procedures, and a citywide implementation plan. Proposers must demonstrate at least three years of comparable experience, California authorization and licensing, secure-handling procedures, capacity to serve multiple locations, and compliance with background-screening, confidentiality, security, and insurance requirements. The proposal must include a cover letter, company profile, qualifications and relevant experience, service approach, security program, equipment and containers, implementation plan, environmental practices, at least three comparable references, pricing, exceptions, and required certifications.
