Description
Columbus Public Health, through its Center for Public Health Innovation, is soliciting proposals for professional written document translation services supporting Columbus Public Health and Franklin County Women, Infants and Children staff and customers. The contractor must provide medically and culturally accurate translations in a broad range of languages, including urgent and emergency requests, sensitive health and social-services materials, vital documents, advertising, clinical-appointment materials, and electronic or tactile formats such as Braille. The contractor must support at least 500 translations annually, preserve plain-language meaning, protect confidential health information, and provide basic and complex formatting and desktop publishing using platforms such as Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe InDesign. Proposals must describe translator qualifications, language-proficiency verification, ethics and confidentiality training, turnaround times, revision procedures, management and reporting, and quality controls. Each project must use a two-person translation quality process with proofreading and editing by a second person of equal qualifications; field testing or peer review must be available when requested. The proposal package is limited to 15 pages and must include bidder information, company history, three client references and three recommendation letters, a project description, pricing and fee schedules, quality-assurance materials, translator qualifications, and an incident-report policy. One vendor will be awarded an initial 12-month contract with four one-year renewal options.
