Description
NASA requires contractor-provided facilities, utilities, and operational support for PC-12 aircraft ground and flight operations during the QUARC laser communications campaign. The scope includes a secure hangar with an operational fire suppression system and minimum dimensions of 75 feet wide by 20 feet high by 80 feet deep; 208 VAC building power capable of supporting 600 amps at 28 VDC through NASA-furnished equipment; secure office, aircraft-parts, payload-component, tool, and ground-support-equipment storage; high-speed commercial internet; diesel fuel for ground and support equipment; aircraft refueling coordination; personnel access to the hangar and flightline; and daily parking for up to five vehicles. Approximately five to eight people will be onsite each day. Estimated aircraft fuel consumption is 1,500 gallons per week during the flight phase from mid-September through mid-December 2026, potentially extending into January 2027. NASA states that it intends to acquire the services on a sole-source basis from JetsFBO, while interested organizations may submit capabilities and qualifications for consideration of competition.
