Description
The City of Somerville is seeking an organization to create and facilitate a youth council and coordinate a network of youth-serving organizations. The youth council must meet at least two to three times monthly, include at least 10 youth receiving stipends, support youth leadership and civic engagement, provide monthly updates to the Somerville Children's Cabinet, and support presentations to the Mayor, City Council, and School Committee. The provider network must meet at least monthly, facilitate collaboration and professional learning, and maintain ongoing communication regarding youth programs and resources. Services must incorporate positive youth development, equity, trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices, and inclusion of marginalized youth. The proposer must be an established youth-serving organization operating for at least three years, demonstrate relevant facilitation and reporting experience, maintain organizational oversight and sustainable funding, and provide staff who have appropriate youth-development and civic-engagement expertise. The estimated performance period is December 1, 2026, through June 1, 2027, with two optional one-year renewals. The City states a budget not to exceed $75,000 per year.
