Description
The grant program funds construction or improvement of infrastructure and services for transient recreational vessels 26 feet or longer. Eligible projects should support access to recreational, historic, cultural, or scenic resources; strengthen connections to the water's edge and related economic benefits; promote public/private partnerships and entrepreneurial opportunities; maintain public shoreline access; and increase awareness of transient boating opportunities. Eligible applicants include local government agencies and private businesses. Total estimated funding is $18,000,000, with individual awards ranging from $300,000 to $1,500,000. Applicants must provide 25% matching funds. Funding is from the Federal Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund, and grant payments are made by reimbursement. A letter of intent is required. The period of performance is three years.
