Description
Elk Grove Unified School District is soliciting proposals from one contractor for districtwide solid waste collection, recycling, and organics services. The scope includes furnishing, delivering, maintaining, cleaning, and replacing containers; scheduled collection and transportation; disposal and recycling; organics collection; and service at schools, administrative facilities, and support locations. The contractor must provide labor, vehicles, equipment, supervision, and materials, maintain reliable service with schedules coordinated around school operations, and support service changes during school and off-schedule periods. The contractor must support California Senate Bill 1383 compliance through organics collection, appropriate containers and labeling, standard reporting and tracking, contamination and diversion information, and basic education materials. Proposals are evaluated on cost, relevant experience, service approach, staffing and equipment, operations, sustainability, waste diversion, reporting, and education. The initial contract term is three years, with up to two additional one-year extensions by mutual written agreement.
