Description
The National Park Service requires demolition and disposal of a Boston and Maine wooden combination car and a Boston and Maine wooden caboose at Steamtown National Historic Site. The contractor must provide all personnel, supervision, labor, materials, tools, equipment, dumpsters, transportation, testing, and disposal services; remove and protect designated clerestory windows; remove and segregate steel fixtures and parts as directed; clean the work areas; and provide final disposal documentation, including manifests, weight tickets, and receipts. The work involves hazardous materials, including potential asbestos-containing materials, lead-based paint, and treated wood, and must comply with applicable federal, state, and local requirements. The contractor may need railroad protective liability insurance, must coordinate work around an active railroad yard, and must meet applicable safety, environmental, security, and HSPD-12 requirements. The performance period is 30 days after issuance of the notice to proceed.
