Description
The New Jersey Department of Human Services, Office of New Americans, is soliciting proposals for the statewide Detention and Deportation Defense Initiative. Funding Options A and B support direct legal representation for eligible low-income New Jersey residents facing immigration detention, deportation, or removal proceedings. Funding Option C supports one statewide coordination entity responsible for referral coordination, provider communication, technical assistance, training, reporting, quality assurance, and network administration. Applicants may apply for one or more funding options and must demonstrate appropriate immigration-law expertise, licensed attorneys or qualified legal professionals, organizational and fiscal capacity, culturally and linguistically responsive service delivery, and participation in statewide coordination and reporting activities. Awards are anticipated to total up to $12 million, with individual awards of up to $5 million for Option A and up to $1 million for Options B and C. Proposed budgets must generally range from $350,000 to $5 million. The initial contract term is one year, with up to four additional one-year renewals at the agency’s discretion. Proposals must include a narrative, budget, required certifications and disclosures, financial statements, organizational materials, and appendices.
