Kansas Correctional Industries seeks bids for the supply and delivery of brome and/or prairie hay and alfalfa hay for its Wild Horse Program. The solicitation specifies 1,200 tons of brome and/or prairie hay, delivered in approximate monthly increments of 200 tons, and up to 600 tons of alfalfa hay. Deliveries are on an as-needed basis from January through June 2027 and may not exceed the stated quantities. Hay must meet minimum crude protein levels of 10% for smooth brome, 6% for grass hay, and 12% for alfalfa. It must be from current- or prior-year crops, properly cured and stored, and free of specified weeds, contaminants, deterioration, bearded grain, long awns, and blister beetles. The buyer may test samples and delivered hay and may reject or seek replacement of nonconforming hay. Bids must include per-ton delivered pricing for each hay category.
