Description
The State of Delaware, Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), Division of Parks and Recreation, is soliciting proposals to lease two agricultural parcels at Trap Pond State Park in Sussex County. The parcels are approximately 33.23 acres and 48 acres and may be used for agricultural production, including crops and hay, as identified on the solicitation map. The lease term is seven years, beginning January 1, 2027, and ending December 31, 2034. The lessee must follow extensive land-management and environmental requirements, including maintaining cover crops, managing weeds and buffers, preparing conservation and nutrient management plans, reporting harvests, and complying with pesticide and other chemical-use controls. Proposals must include the completed vendor offer form, a notarized non-collusion statement, a certified check for bid security equal to 25% of the proposed annual lease fee, and the requested farming experience, program participation, and ability-to-perform information. The lease prohibits assignment without consent and prohibits subleasing.
