Description
Unified School District No. 261 seeks a contractor to clean up and organize existing Cat5, Cat6, and fiber cabling in 42 wiring closets across 14 buildings. Work includes replacing racks and patch panels as needed; reterminating, labeling, and testing cabling; replacing applicable wall plates and jacks; reconnecting switches to their existing ports; and documenting connections, materials, and test results. The project also includes replacing specified multimode fiber with new 12-strand OS2 single-mode fiber and reterminating designated existing fiber. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, testing, documentation, and disposal, and must price the full scope across all 14 buildings. The project is to be substantially completed during the district’s summer break, with work coordinated to avoid disruption during normal school and business hours. A mandatory walkthrough at one of two scheduled sessions is required to participate. Proposals must include the completed pricing worksheet, an itemized pricing breakdown, a transmittal letter, vendor profile and project photographs, implementation timeline, at least three similar-project references from the past five years, any optional services or alternatives priced separately, and a sample contract or agreement. Subcontracting requires prior written district approval. The awarded vendor must maintain commercial general liability and workers’ compensation insurance and provide proof upon request.
