Description
Interior Health is seeking expressions of interest from farmers interested in leasing and operating 8.229 acres of agricultural land. The land consists of north and south portions, is within the Agricultural Land Reserve, and must be used for a permitted farm use compatible with the surrounding residential neighbourhood. Existing improvements include perimeter chain-link fencing and a water connection. The lessee will be responsible for operating expenses, maintenance, permits and certifications, property insurance and applicable property taxes, as well as improvements such as irrigation systems. The lease term is to be negotiated; the stated commencement date is January 1, 2027, but no later than April 1, 2027. Responses must include the respondent's name and contact details, acknowledgment of the stated requirements, desired minimum lease length, proposed farming activities and experience in agricultural operations. Interior Health may use the responses to determine market interest and may subsequently initiate a competitive evaluation; this RFEI does not itself promise a lease award.
