Description
This construction project requires replacing two legacy diesel fire pump controllers and integrating them with the existing fire suppression, fire alarm, annunciator, and monitoring systems. The contractor must replace or verify associated sensing lines, provide surge protection and wiring, perform diesel pump maintenance, implement the required sequencing and automatic testing functions, and replace the legacy foam-releasing control panel with a UL 864-listed releasing service fire alarm control unit sized for the existing field devices and spare capacity. The work also includes a field audit, stamped design documents, permitting, programming, testing, commissioning, training, updated AutoCAD and PDF drawings, operating and maintenance manuals, warranty documentation, and QFPE review and certification. The contractor must decommission, remove, package, transport, and dispose of the approximately 400-gallon high-expansion foam tank, bladder, concentrate or solution, designated piping, valves, proportioning equipment, and contaminated incidental waste in accordance with applicable federal, Alaska, local, and installation requirements. Required environmental controls include containment of foam and rinsate, hazardous-waste determinations, permitted off-base disposal, manifests, disposal certificates, waste tracking, environmental plans, and related regulatory documentation. The period of performance is 45 days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The stated order of magnitude is $350,000 to $500,000.
