Description
The Fairbanks North Star Borough is soliciting proposals for the design and construction of an accessible playground for children ages 5–12. The base work includes new playground equipment, accessible protective surfacing, site preparation, drainage, paths, seating, shade structures, plantings, relocation of a drinking fountain, and restoration of disturbed areas. The design must meet applicable accessibility, playground safety, and ASTM requirements, with design development and construction documents prepared and sealed by an Alaska-licensed landscape architect. An alternate requests artificial turf near the pavilion and beneath the existing train play structure, including appropriate fall protection. Proposals must address the project approach, management and quality-control plan, qualifications and experience, a detailed design/procurement/construction schedule, and separate base-bid and alternate pricing. The estimated agreement value is $1.25 million to $2.5 million. Substantial completion is required by August 30, 2027, with final completion by September 30, 2027.
