Description
The Fairbanks North Star Borough is soliciting bids for construction of a domestic water system at the Chena Lake Recreation Area Office. The work includes installing and connecting a buried, non-pressure-rated, 1,500-gallon polyethylene domestic-water storage tank; installing a packaged constant-pressure booster pump system with an integral pressure tank and automatic pressure sensing; and connecting the tank to the existing facility water systems. The scope also includes underground and interior potable-water piping, valves, strainers, backflow-prevention and related plumbing specialties, insulation, tank anchorage and buoyancy restraints, pipe penetrations, pump supports, electrical connections, and self-regulating electric heat trace for the buried water piping. The contractor must perform testing, cleaning, disinfection, startup, product submittals, owner training, and operation and maintenance documentation. The project is subject to Alaska prevailing-wage, certified-payroll, licensing, insurance, and bonding requirements.
