Description
Fairbanks North Star Borough is seeking a contractor to replace up to six existing fire-rated coiling doors with new non-fire-rated motorized coiling door assemblies at the Juanita Helms Administration Center. The work includes removal and disposal of existing doors, motors, operators, controls, release devices, and associated cabling; installation of new curtains, guides, motors, operators, controls, and accessories; electrical modifications; fire-alarm interface modifications and testing; soffit removal and replacement; access hatches; patching, repairing, and refinishing adjacent walls and ceilings; and protection of existing flooring. The base bid and additive alternates divide the work among the first-floor Assessing, Treasury/Budget, and Clerk's Office areas and the second- and third-floor Human Resources and Community Planning areas. The drawings specify Overhead Door Corporation Model 650 as the basis of design for the rolling counter doors and Model RSX or equivalent for operators. Work must accommodate continued building occupancy, restricted work hours, field verification, prevailing-wage requirements, and required contractor licensing, insurance, and bonding.
