Description
The Town of Chapel Hill is seeking a contractor to remove the variable-size stormwater culvert at and around 116 North Street and replace it with 36-inch circular reinforced concrete pipe. The work also includes sanitary sewer and waterline adjustments, excavation, dewatering, erosion and sedimentation controls, utility coordination, and roadway and site restoration. The contractor is responsible for coordinating utility shutoffs and reconnections, providing timely notice to the Town and Duke Energy, and installing underground conduit where required. Construction must account for traffic and lane-closure restrictions, protect adjacent retaining walls, and repair any damage in kind. The Town has not prepared an engineer’s opinion of probable cost; bidders should not include an allowance for utility relocations.
