Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs requires continuous general waste hauling and co-mingled recycling removal services for the Iowa City VA Health Care System. The contractor must furnish labor, vehicles, containers, equipment, materials, supervision, transportation, disposal services, permits, licenses, fees, and incidentals necessary to perform the work. The scope includes scheduled and emergency compactor pickups; as-needed open-top dumpster delivery, collection, emptying, and return; weekly co-mingled recycling collection; biweekly cardboard-bale pickup; lawful disposal and recycling; equipment maintenance; pickup tickets; monthly weight, cost, and revenue reporting; and spill, safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance. The requirement is a firm-fixed-price service contract with a base year from October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027, and one option year from October 1, 2027, through September 30, 2028. The solicitation is a total set-aside for certified SDVOSBs, and the prime contractor must comply with the applicable 50 percent limitation on subcontracting for services.
