Description
The Pittsburgh VA Medical Center requires a custom supply storage solution for its Operating Room's Central Core. This solicitation is a total set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). The project involves converting existing shelving to a high-density basket system to consolidate Operating Room inventory. The contractor will be responsible for the complete "turnkey" installation and assembly, including coordinating delivery, unloading, staging equipment, and providing training to VA employees on the system's use. The required system must be modular, compatible with existing OR workflows and layouts without structural modifications, and constructed from medical-grade, corrosion-resistant materials suitable for high-humidity environments. Key specifications include adjustable modular shelving, a minimum weight capacity for heavy OR supplies, and shelves that allow for airflow. Mobile units must have medical-grade locking casters for stability and safe maneuverability. Specific dimensions for the custom system are provided, with height between 73-73.25 inches, width between 18.5-19 inches, and depth between 25-25.5 inches. The system must also be designed for easy cleaning, support safe material handling, and have a minimum expected service life of 10 years. The contractor must provide assembly instructions, maintenance recommendations, replacement part lists, and staff orientation/training.
