Description
The City of Wichita is soliciting bids for the removal and legal disposal of existing HVAC systems and installation of new high-efficiency split systems at 13 scattered single-family public-housing homes. The work includes approximately 80,000-BTU, 96% AFUE gas furnaces; matched cased evaporator coils; R-32 air-conditioning condensers; new copper line sets; programmable thermostats; media air cleaners; customized sheet-metal transitions; condensate drainage and safety controls; electrical, gas, and venting reconnections; and outdoor security cages. The contractor must perform load calculations, refrigerant recovery, nitrogen-purged brazing, pressure and vacuum testing, system commissioning, cleanup, equipment registration, permitting, inspections, and delivery of operating manuals and warranty documentation. Work is subject to applicable codes, EPA Section 608 requirements, Davis-Bacon wage requirements, HUD Section 3 requirements, and a 30-calendar-day completion period after notice to proceed. A 5% bid bond is required with each bid; the successful bidder must provide 100% performance and labor-and-material payment bonds.
