Description
Sedgwick County is soliciting bids from licensed general or mechanical contractors to replace the outdated Building Automation System at its Adult Detention Facility. The work includes furnishing labor, materials, equipment, controls, and related components to improve HVAC management, energy efficiency, and system reliability for cooling towers, chillers, boilers, circulation pumps, air handlers, rooftop units, and associated systems. The solicitation includes multiple alternates for preheat coils, chilled-water and heating-water pump variable-frequency drives, and airflow-measuring stations. The project also includes structured communications cabling and related infrastructure, including Category 6 copper cabling, fiber-optic backbone cabling, racks, patch panels, cable management, testing, labeling, fire stopping, documentation, and warranties. Bidders must provide a bid response, bid security of at least 5 percent, and a certificate of insurance with the bid. A performance bond and statutory payment bond, each for 100 percent of the contract amount, are required after award. The contractor must be licensed, meet the stated insurance requirements, and provide a BICSI Certified Installer 2 on staff for the cabling work.
