Description
Unified School District No. 261 is requesting proposals for cable management and fiber installation across 42 MDF and IDF closets in 14 buildings. The work includes cleaning up existing Cat5, Cat6, and fiber cabling; replacing racks and patch panels; reterminating, labeling, testing, and documenting cabling; installing wall plates, jacks, and patch cables; reconnecting switches; and replacing designated multimode fiber with new 12-strand OS2 single-mode fiber runs. The vendor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, testing, documentation, and disposal. The proposal must cover all 14 buildings and include pricing for closet work, new fiber runs, and fiber reterminations using the provided pricing worksheet, along with a separate itemized materials-and-labor breakdown. Required proposal content includes a letter of introduction, vendor profile and relevant project photographs, implementation timeline, at least three similar-project references from the past five years, optional value-added information, and a sample contract or agreement. Attendance at one of two mandatory walkthroughs is required, and proposals must be uploaded as PDF files through the designated procurement portal. The project is contingent on E-Rate funding and Board of Education approval, with substantial completion expected during the district’s summer break.
