Description
Sedgwick County is soliciting bids from licensed general contractors to demolish the existing Juvenile Residential Facility at the project site and construct a new two-story Juvenile Services Building for the County Department of Corrections. The work includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and related services in accordance with the bidding documents, drawings, specifications, and addenda. The project also includes a complete structured communications cabling system, including Category 6 copper cabling, fiber-optic backbone cabling, outlets, patch panels, racks, cable management, grounding, fire stopping, testing, labeling, as-built documentation, and warranties. The cabling contractor must have a BICSI Certified Installer 2 on staff, and the cabling system must include a 20-year product warranty and at least a one-year labor warranty. Bids must be submitted by licensed general contractors on the County's bid form. A bid security of at least 5% of the bid amount plus alternates is required in the form of an acceptable bid bond or certified/cashier's check. The bid package must include a certificate of insurance, and the successful contractor must provide 100% performance and payment/statutory bonds and additional post-award documentation. The County will award to the lowest responsive, responsible, and best bidder meeting the specifications.
