Description
The California Correctional Training and Rehabilitation Authority is soliciting vinyl fabrics for mattress and pillow manufacturing. The requirement includes four fabric lines: gray mattress vinyl in 72-inch and 44-inch widths at 10.5 ounces per square yard, fawn mattress vinyl in a 54-inch width at 9.0 ounces per square yard, and blue pillow vinyl in a 54-inch width at 5.0 ounces per square yard. Materials must meet detailed requirements for dimensions, weight, flame resistance, antimicrobial and bacteria resistance, strength, adhesion, flexibility, cold-crack resistance, colorfastness, fabrication, and freedom from phthalates and heavy metals. Equivalent products may be offered in place of the reference brands. Bidders must be factory-authorized distributors, provide manufacturer authorization, current certified laboratory test reports, product literature, warranty information, quality-control documentation, applicable material safety data sheets, recycled-content certification, and samples. One sample of at least 24 by 24 inches is required for each fabric offered, with additional 30-linear-yard samples potentially required for finished-mattress flame testing. The awarded supplier must provide certified test data with deliveries, comply with packaging and labeling requirements, deliver within 30 calendar days after order notification, and provide a five-year product warranty. Estimated quantities total 330,000 yards over a three-year contract term, with an optional emergency extension of up to one additional year.
