Description
The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, on behalf of the Georgia Institute of Technology (GIT), is soliciting statements of qualifications for design professional services for Project No. J-458, the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering. This project aims to provide a new, student-centered aerospace engineering facility of approximately 200,000 square feet to advance research and education in aerospace, mobility, and space systems. The new building will serve as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and industry engagement, supporting GIT's strategic goals for research infrastructure and student experience. The scope of services includes programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding assistance, and construction administration. The selected firm will be responsible for all design services, including coordination with specialty consultants and adherence to various state and institutional design standards. The project delivery method will be Construction Manager at Risk (CM@Risk), and the estimated construction cost is approximately $163,700,000, with a preliminary design professional base fee of approximately $9,000,000. The anticipated start of design services is September 2026, with material completion of the building expected in March 2030.
