Cheboygan Area Schools is soliciting sealed bids for the construction of an enclosed work yard at Cheboygan Area High School. Bids must be submitted to the Board of Education Office at 7461 North Straits Highway, Cheboygan, Michigan 49721, by 11:00 AM local time on Monday, June 29, 2026. Bids received after this deadline will not be accepted. Oral, telephone, fax, or electronic mail bids are invalid. Bid proposals must be clearly labeled "WORK YARD ENCLOSURE" on the package. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 11:00 AM on the same date. Bidding details and specifications can be obtained from Steve Fleming, Cheboygan Area Schools Transportation, Maintenance, and Grounds Manager, at flemings@chebschools.com or 231-627-4422. An optional pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 1:30 PM at Cheboygan Area High School, 801 W Lincoln Avenue, Cheboygan, Michigan 49721. All bids must be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship between the bidder's owner/employees and any member of the Cheboygan Area Schools Board of Education or the Superintendent, as per MCL 380.1267. Additionally, all bids must include a sworn and notarized Affidavit of Compliance with the Iran Economic Sanctions Act (MCL 129.311 et seq). A bid security of 5% of the bid amount, payable to Cheboygan Area Schools in the form of a certified bank check or bid bond, is required with all bids.
