Description
Catawba County is soliciting sealed bids from a single prime contractor for construction of an approximately 2,020-square-foot metal-frame operator's building at the Blackburn Resource Recovery Facility. The project includes demolition of existing pavement and selected site features, light grading for the building pad, a surrounding concrete sidewalk, heavy-duty asphalt pavement for parking and driveway areas, and construction of a building with vestibule entrances, locker space, an open training and gathering area with kitchenette, two restrooms, storage, and mechanical space. Bids are to be submitted on a lump-sum and unit-price basis. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit is required for eligibility. Each bid must include a certified or cashier's check or original bid bond equal to 5% of the total base bid. Performance and labor-and-materials payment bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract sum, are required at contract execution. The project must be completed within 240 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
