Description
The City of Hickory is soliciting sealed paper bids for construction of approximately 1.133 miles of sidewalk along both sides of SR 1453 (12th Avenue NE/Springs Road NE), between SR 1401 (16th Street NE/Sandy Ridge Road) and McDonald Parkway NE. The work includes furnishing materials, labor, and equipment for grading, drainage, asphalt paving, concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter, driveways, curb ramps, pavement markings, signs, erosion and sediment control, utility construction, water and sewer work, and traffic signal and intelligent transportation systems improvements, including accessible pedestrian signal equipment. The project is federally funded and subject to NCDOT 2024 Standard Specifications, Buy America requirements, Davis-Bacon requirements, DBE provisions, traffic-control requirements, and applicable licensing and prequalification rules. A bid bond equal to 5% of the total bid is required, along with payment and performance bonds after award. The contract availability date is November 30, 2026, with final completion required by November 18, 2028; an intermediate completion date of May 22, 2028 applies to specified work. The solicitation requires the entire completed proposal, itemized bid form, and applicable forms in a sealed envelope, with addenda acknowledged on the bid form.
