Description
Reading School District is soliciting proposals from a single prime vendor for 100% fiber-based wide area network services connecting 26 district buildings. Vendors may propose leased dark fiber or lit fiber solutions. Requirements include 25 Gbps connections to satellite sites, 100 Gbps diverse connections between the two hub sites, dedicated bandwidth, Layer 2 transparency for lit fiber, diverse paths, network diagrams, Google Earth-compatible KMZ files, installation, testing, and turn-up. Dark fiber proposals must include 56 fiber strands, circuit-distance information, and fiber maintenance and operations throughout the contract term; network electronics for lighting dark fiber are excluded. The District requests pricing for 10-year, 15-year, and 20-year initial terms, each with up to 24 months of month-to-month extensions. The selected vendor must provide 24/7/365 support, proactive monitoring, specified response and repair times, service-level commitments, consolidated monthly billing, and separate invoicing for ineligible services. Proposals must identify subcontractors and leased or resold services, provide at least four comparable client references, include technical and operational information, submit required certifications, and include a proposed contract. Installation may begin no earlier than January 1, 2027, and all services must be operational by December 31, 2027.
