Description
The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is establishing an agency-specific term contract to furnish and deliver white, plain, corn grits that are quick-cooking with a 15- to 20-minute cook time and not instant. The grits must be packaged in 25-pound bags, Kosher certified, labeled with ingredients, allergens, nutritional values, and a Kosher symbol or wording, and have at least six months of remaining shelf life at delivery. Products must be palletized within specified maximum dimensions, with no metal banding securing bags to pallets, and must meet applicable USDA, North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and FDA standards. The estimated quantity is 9,730 bags over 12 months, with a minimum order of 1,600 bags or the vendor's stated truckload quantity if lower. Delivery is FOB destination within North Carolina, generally within 30 consecutive calendar days after receipt of a purchase order. The contract has an initial one-year term with up to two additional one-year renewal options. Bidders must submit pricing, product labels and specifications, a Kosher certificate, references, sustainability information, and the required completed solicitation forms through the State's Sourcing Tool.
