Description
Leander Independent School District is soliciting bids for assorted fruits, vegetables, and beans used in school nutrition programs. The requested products include canned fruit; dried fruit; shelf-stable individual fruit cups; frozen strawberries, broccoli, carrots, corn, greens, lima beans, peas, mixed vegetables, onion rings, and numerous potato products; dry and canned beans; and green beans. Quantities are specified by line item, generally in pounds, with some products purchased as needed. Products must meet stated USDA Grade A or equivalent standards, Child Nutrition meal-pattern requirements, nutritional limits, packaging specifications, and other line-item requirements. Equal products generally require delivery of samples and nutritional information for approval; certain items also require documentation supporting a Buy American Act waiver when domestic supply is inconsistent or unreasonably priced. The attached scope-of-work document describes a separate homeless-encampment cleanup solicitation and does not correspond to this produce opportunity.
