Description
The City of Tehachapi is seeking a qualified consultant to provide as-needed building construction plan check services. The scope includes formal completeness reviews and technical review of residential and non-residential construction drawings, calculations, and related reports for compliance with adopted building codes and municipal requirements. Work may include new construction, remodels, additions, green building and LEED reviews, landscaping and MWELO compliance, and public nuisance abatement. The consultant will also interface with permit applicants and City staff, prepare correction notices and reports, address complex code interpretation issues, and recommend policies and procedures. Required capabilities include permit application, architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, disabled-access, and green-building reviews. Desired additional services include Accela permit software support, building inspections, grading design review, CASp support, LEED review, public nuisance abatement review, Chief Building Official support, OSHPD 3 review and inspection, fire review, and landscaping review. The response must include an introduction letter, firm qualifications, resources and technical capabilities, references, proposed fees and other direct costs, and hourly rates. The City intends to award one three-year contract with two optional one-year extensions.
